What is RATEB?

Rateb is an innovative online salary payment solution specifically designed for Domestic Workers. By providing a seamless and straightforward online process, we eliminate the complications associated with cash payments, making it easier for both employers and employees. Users can effortlessly manage and track payments, ensuring that wages are delivered on time and without the typical hassles of handling cash. Embracing technology, Rateb is revolutionizing how domestic workers are compensated, paving the way for a more efficient and modern approach to salary management.

How does it work?

Step 1 - Both employers and domestic workers download our app and register their accounts using Kuwait Mobile ID

Step 2 - The employer adds the domestic workers' profiles under their account by entering their Civil ID number and salary amount

Step 3 - Salaries, bonuses, advance payments, or vacation allowances are paid by using K-NET

Step 4 - Domestic workers receive a notification on their phone and can transfer their money through the app. They can also withdraw funds from our branded ATMs or visit one of our partner exchange companies to transfer money

How does the Domestic Worker receive the salary?

Once the salary has been paid, we send a notification to your recipient and credit their e-wallet account.

Should my Domestic Worker have a mobile?

Yes, a domestic worker must have a mobile phone with a valid, active SIM card to receive and withdraw their salary, as well as to manage their RATEB account. This ensures they can use the necessary features for salary management and other financial transactions.

Can I pay my domestic worker's salary if I don’t download your app?

No, you must download our app and register an account in order to use our platform. This step is essential to gain access to our full range of services, including managing payments, tracking transactions, and accessing various features designed to simplify your financial management. Without registration, you won’t be able to fully benefit from the platform’s functionalities or manage your account effectively.

Are there any limits?

To safeguard accounts from misuse or fraud, limits are set on the amount that can be paid to domestic workers, the maximum balance in their e-wallet accounts, and the amounts they can receive, transfer, or withdraw within a specified period. Some of these limits are mandated by the Central Bank of Kuwait, while additional measures are implemented to ensure secure transactions and prevent unauthorized or fraudulent activities, offering protection to both employers and workers.

Refunds

For refund requests related to transfers or transactions made through an exchange company, please follow up directly with the exchange company. All refunds will be issued in Kuwaiti Dinars.

Expired Civil ID

If your Civil ID remains expired for six months without renewal, your account will be automatically closed. If you have any funds remaining in your account, you can either email us at refunds@myrateb.com for instructions on how to proceed or call our support line for guidance on withdrawing your money.

Dispute resolution

In the event of a dispute, you must file a claim by completing the complaint form available online or by emailing us at complaints@myrateb.com. During the claims process, we may request documentation or additional information from you. This could include receipts, police reports, or any other materials specified by us.

License and supervision

My Rateb is licensed by the Central Bank of Kuwait as a small e-Money Service Provider.
